Paula Downing Exhibition Brochure Design

To accompany their joint exhibition at the Royal Cornwall Museum in Truro, ceramic artist Paula Downing and photographer Antony Hosking required a brochure to showcase their work.

Featuring work from the exhibition, the brochure needed to put full emphasis on the art and photography itself. To accomplish this, I extracted each image from its original background and then added lighting effects to create the effect of the pieces “in situ”. Each piece of Paula’s ceramic work was then paired in the brochure with one of Antony’s photographs to give both equal emphasis.

The cover features a montage of one of Paula’s ceramic pieces, against the backdrop of one of Antony’s photographs. The addition of textures and lighting effects makes the finished article extremely dramatic and eye-catching.
